I graduated two years ago from St. Josephs Academy, an all-girls high school. Both my parents attended public co-ed high schools, so the idea of same-sex education was new to my family. Many times children follow in their parents footsteps. However, my parents decided to try something new by taking my sister and I to an all- girls high school open house. As my sister and I began to see the life-long benefits that a same-sex school had to offer, we made the final decision to attend an all-girls high school. The focus of my blog is to begin by informing parents about St. Louis education and the unique number of same-sex schools that St. Louis offers. My goal is for parents and prospective students to see all the life-long benefits that same-sex high schools offer, while also providing some personal insight on my incredible experience. Lastly, I encourage parents to take their child to a same-sex high school open house, so that their child can see all of the pros that same-sex education has to offer. I encourage this because there is a great chance that the more parents learn about same-sex education, the more they will fall in love, just the way that my parents and I did.
